October Recap: Catching Skills, Teamwork, and Halloween Fun! 🎃🏀⚽

October was bursting with energy, excitement, and teamwork at Playa Vista Elementary, where the Champ Camp PE Team brought fun-filled fitness sessions every week. With a focus on skill-building, teamwork, and plenty of laughs, each week of October offered students an awesome experience in physical education. Here’s a quick recap of our action-packed month!

Week 1: Catching Like Champs 🤲✨

We kicked off October by honing those catching skills! 🎾 Students paired up for drills, mastering both overhand and underhand catches, while also perfecting their throwing techniques. This week was all about boosting confidence and coordination, giving students a strong foundation for games and team sports. Way to catch it, crew! 🎉

Week 2: Kicking It Soccer-Style ⚽🔥

Next up, we went full-on soccer mode! Students dove into "moneyball" kicking drills to get a feel for the ball and work on their aim. They cheered each other on through relay races and other challenges, building not just their skills but a sense of community and teamwork. This week was a total goal-getter! 🙌

Week 3: Cooperation is Key 🏰🤝

In week three, teamwork took the spotlight! Students tackled games that required them to pass the ball to everyone, emphasizing inclusivity and group success. One favorite was “Castle ball,” where students built a hula hoop fortress and defended it from dodgeballs. It was a blast, mixing strategy with tons of fun! 💥

Week 4: Shooting Hoops 🏀🎯

October’s fourth week introduced students to the basics of basketball! From fast-paced relay races to team games, we made shooting practice both exciting and dynamic. Students learned the value of patience and practice while boosting their fitness and focus. Swish! 🏆

Week 5: Halloween-Themed Fun 👻🎃

Our final week brought a Halloween twist! Students enjoyed spooky, skill-themed games that revisited all we’d covered—catching, kicking, teamwork, and more. Costumes, festive games, and lots of laughs made this week a memorable wrap to a fantastic month!

Champ Camp’s October in Action 🌟

Throughout October, the Champ Camp PE Team wove together skill-building with lively, play-based games like tag and dodgeball, keeping each session engaging and inclusive. Every student had a chance to get moving, build skills, and, most importantly, have fun!

With an incredible October behind us, we’re pumped for what November holds! This month’s foundation of teamwork, skill-building, and pure joy has set the stage for continued growth and excitement in PE.
